Why do people take photos and videos of every single slightly out-of-the-norm occurrence in their lives? Why do we criticise people recording these events, saying they should ‘live in the moment’? The pace and opportunity we have in life now to simply EXPERIENCE is nothing to what it was 20, 30. 50 years ago. Social media has normalised recording and sharing all our precious moments as a way of claiming , even identifying ourselves through such them. This post, after one of my little musings to open it, focuses on human memory v technical memory in possessing moments.
