Hi, I’m Amber
This space is for the people (like me) who spend a bit too much time in their heads, wandering; trying against everything to live, not merely exist. But they’re told to touch grass and get a grip on reality. (Pffft if only they saw how preternatural grass can be).
Art is evoking for a few reasons. Me, as an artist, I see these gems as a part of me, past and present. Everyone else, you either know me, don’t know me, or have known me at some point. If you study art/the humanities, you will try to see or hear what I’ve seen or heard to comprehend the significance of what you are viewing. I’ve tried to give you that sight and I hope you feel that when you look at the archives of eight years worth of photography. I also love hearing how my photographs make you feel or think. How the colours depict this, how you love the lighting on that, or how you never would have seen the potential in something so simple had I not forced you to see it (in the least forceful way possible).
While my grandma is obliged to say all my photographs are pretty, she is not obliged to tell me a story about each of them. I’ve my own behind every one but someone else can too? If she has something to say, others probably do.
When you delve here, you’ll see how I have tried to give these photos to you in such a way that makes you stop. How, in the world steered towards AI, and ‘content creating’, artists and their work are worth more than a glance, or the simple acknowledgement of a ‘pretty picture’. I’m not claiming to be anything extraordinary, but I am claiming these photographs, and my mind, to be worth more than a double tap.
